Hi everybody I hope you had a fabulous end to your year and that you are already having a great start to the new year. At the end of last year I promised you guys, that one my first videos would be my statement necklace collection video, and here it is, and like this video if you have a statement necklace obsession - because I know I'm not the only one.
I get a ton of questions asking about my statement and gold chain necklaces from where I find them, how I get good deals on them, how I style them and how I organize them. So all that will be addressed here today and I will be showing you guys all of my statement necklaces. For the longest time I was storing my necklaces along my mirror, just like how draping them over, but I was afraid that the mirror is going to break soon or something because it is an old vanity that I use, and the necklaces are quite heavy. If you follow me on Instagram you already know how I store them because I posted a picture a couple of nights ago. You guys should follow me on Instagram at hearts shopping, but I just use a coat hanger thing that I’ve had since I was really little, is how I style them. I wear them whenever I feel like they're going to complete an outfit. I wouldn't wear it with this outfit just because it has the buttons at the collar and just like the little embroidery, so I didn't work today. I wear statement necklaces as you guys probably know, just with collared shirts most of the time, chambray shirts, flannels with sweaters over them, high cut dresses. I wear them all the time basically, but there's not really eight tips for them, you just have to be able to pull them off I think. Like you have to be confident when you're wearing them, because it's a statement piece and next is where I buy them. Before I start showing you guys all the necklaces. I like j.crew j.crew Factory has good deals all the time, random little shops on Etsy, blue teak has some really great jewellery especially in their actual locations, which I think they only have like six, but um I bought three necklaces when I was visited once. So that was a fun day, bauble bar of course, um the little random flash sales stores like group deals, very Jane dot com and ruby all really great. Um and then just like finding a little random boutiques, every once in a while I’ll buy something from there especially if I'm looking for our j.crew piece that's sold out I’ll normally find like a j.crew inspired piece and just by googling the j.crew necklace, you can normally find it that way. So I'm just going to get started because we have a lot of necklaces here. If I have any pictures of me wearing these necklaces like from Instagram i'll insert them. Alright so the first one is this j.crew flora bib inspired one. I got this from group deals. I think is either group deals or very Jane calm, but it's by the brand buffalo lane and I wouldn't recommend it. It's kind of cheap because it was a tube necklace but I’ve been looking for this for forever, so I finally got it, so I like that one. I have this blue teal and mint one and this is from blue teak and I got this at their Charlottesville location in Virginia, super pretty, I love statement necklace collection videos because I feel like no one does them, so it's always really exciting when someone does. I have this one which I got from j.crew Factory it was $25 on sale, so awesome deal there, and I wear this all the time, as you guys probably could tell over my holiday season with all its fashion videos. I wear some a lot I absolutely love this and it's just really sparkly add a really good outfit completer. This is the Audrey necklace from Ellen damn and I got this a couple years ago, but it's just like the five little teardrop stones and then the gold chain, and I like this one a lot especially it for like the holiday season. And this is from Francesca's and Francesca's is really good too, they have lost sales a lot of time where it's like I won't get one for $5. Awesome, has the emerald green stones with the mint and the clear crystals and then the little creamsicle ones, so like that. This one was from my sister for my birthday, it was, its j.crew inspired, like I said I found it cuz I’ve been looking for it for forever and I found it on eBay. So eBay is another great source to use, but this is j.crew inspired, super-pretty. I love this one and I love wearing it with just a navy and white striped top I have from j.crew. I think it looks really nice like that. This is one of my newer necklaces that I get a bazillion compliments on every single time I wear it. This is the honeybee inspired necklace from j.crew but it inspires, if not from j.crew it's actually from apple of my eye jewelry dot net dot com. I believe I got this for Christmas, like I said and every time I wear I get so many questions about it. So this is really pretty, it's just light pink crystals and that's a little teal purple and creamsicle. I have a couple boring ones, this is just a bubble necklace and I think this one was from Charlotte Russe, just really simple. I also got it in black and I wear the black one more than the teal one. So I have these two bubble necklaces, my first statement necklace ever, it's not that much of a statement anymore and I rarely wear it. I think I did one video with it once, it's just this lil one I got it from forever 21 and I think target has a lot of these out right now, so it's kind of funny. A couple from bauble bar, here mogera, I had this one from bauble bar, it's just a bubble necklace and it's pearls and this was from the Atlantic Pacific collaboration with olive R, which is a blog which I love. So there's this little one and I wear this a lot in the summer and my mom loves that one too, and I have this big pink one which I actually love this. I only can wear it with some types of shirts like didn't look with everything, but when I do it's really cute and my management always asked, he's like, isn't that like really heavy in your neck? I'm like no, it's plastic. So I like this one quite a lot and I have another one I got for Christmas and this is just like crystals all the way around the top and then there's just a little yellow pendants hanging down with more charms and crystals. This was from, I think very Jain calm, love that and it came with earrings too and I believe it was something ridiculous like nine dollars. This is one of my newer necklaces which I love so much. I got this from Francesca's, I don't know how to show you guys, it's kind of different because it's longer, it's not just up at your neckline, it's a little bit lower, so I really like this one it is like a yellow emerald chocolate and lavender. Really pretty, I have my really pretty JQ Rose necklace which is kind of twisted right now, don't like that very much. I didn't buy this in store, I bought this off a reliable seller on eBay. eBay can be kind of sketchy sometimes, my best advice for it would just to not order anything from China, it's most likely fake. Just going to say it, I have this, absolutely love it, especially for the summer, everyone's always very interested by it you're like that's quite a necklace there, like I know I love it. This one this is from blue teak and it's just pull up blue and purple and it's really cute, really kind of simple, looks really good with chambray shirts. Then my last one from boutique is just like that fan one, that everyone kind of has, its Navy, orange and pink and I wore this on a college but said I believe. It looked super cute which is a chambray shirt and a j.crew um skirt, super cute, I like that one. This one I believe was one my first purchases first purchases from group deals. I don't wear it a ton just because the colours in person are different from the photo that was online, so that's why I don't wear it as much, but it's still pretty cute. It's just blue teal and pink j.crew factory version, uh I don't know if it's called the cupcake necklace or the, I want to say Venus flytrap. I don't think that's right though. I'm not sure what it's called, but just the little strand of crystals and I wear this one just with like more busy outfits, it just kind of completes it, adds a little sparkle to it. And then my last necklace is from group deals I think like I said I get Law Group deal things you and it's just the j.crew inspired candy necklace, which I was on the hunt for, for forever and I found it on group deals, I believe it was like 17 dollars, great deal and the quality is really nice. This is one of the nicer quality ones I found from group deals, so I'm pretty happy about that. If you have any questions about the necklaces that you saw or any of the brands or stores that I mentioned, let me know in the comments because I would be glad to answer them. Don't forget to subscribe and follow me on all my media websites, Instagram, Twitter and I think my tumblr is down there too, so you want to check it out you absolutely can.

That's why you're shopping for this piece. It's never been seen before, it is direct from Italy. You understand it, you get it, thank you anna for joining us tonight. Thank you rick, goodbye my dear, bye-bye. Okay anna from Illinois, let me give you the update on this brand-new piece. This was brought in and we have a feature price and we want to clarify something, there's nine-month financing available on this, so do you have a cue card? If you do is that right Mr. Martin? Yeah if you have a cue card all you do is you put it on the cue card and then it's over nine months. You have to make minimum payments and you have to make the last payment after nine months and if you do, no interest if paid in full within nine months. Just a couple dozen of you can have it in each, that's it a couple dozen can be had and then it's gone. I would put it on that cue card if you want to, you kind of create your own payment plan if you will, again check with our order onto representative you want to get a cue card or check with our order entry representative because they have details on how the cue card works. It's very simple, not a big deal, but in order for no interest to be charged then it's just nine months and that brings you, guess what back into Christmas, right April May June July August September October November, you're back into December by the time you make that final payment, so this be merry Christmas from you to you. Look at the diamond cutting look at the hundreds and hundreds of subtle diamond cuts on that, the chain itself, that rolo chain that's 14 karat gold. It's all Italian made, lobster claw clasp, pulls it all together. It is going to be truly your size, nine and a half grams and that's in the small one, well over 10 grams if you're getting the seven and a quarter or the large 8 inch, not a problem it's never been seen before, but that is just I mean you could take any one of these off and you could add a pin you could make a pendant out of it. You could take one of these one of these puffy hearts off to your respected jeweller and you can make earrings out of it. How about that right, if you had a finding in 14k or gold you could literally make earrings out of that. That's just that's just amazing, because all these have these little loops on it. You could add other charms in the future if you wanted to, although it's pretty filled, it's pretty filled. I don't know if we counted, we counted starting there yeah we counted two, four, six, eight, ten, twelve, fourteen, you get the idea? It's filled, filled with charms and only here at qvc can you do this again nine-month financing and only gold lovers can make it happen. There's one dozen in each size, i knew that was going to happen, i knew was going to have one of those or earrings they were almost going in the 2-tone, the watch is still to come and this beautiful, beautiful bracelet that a dozen can be had. That's it, ah you know the breadth of assortment in the show, I keep coming back to that phrase but $27 for a beautiful pair of earrings from our bronze oh Italian line, but for gold lovers this is not playing around, this is not costume jewellery, this is not little kids jewelry, this is for the grown-ups and that is your piece. It's ageless, it's timeless, if you have worked your entire life and maybe put many, many years dedicated to your company and said I want to, I’m not getting a gold watch, they don't give those out anymore when you retire. i want to reward myself with something and I can have and love will be a keepsake to my daughter or to my granddaughter someday, because it'll be in our family for generations to come. You can use six easy payments of 130, 6 months it's a 30 day unconditional money back guarantee. There's eight remaining in each and that's it eight, you buy it to size six and three-quarter we're in a hundred million homes so eight not a lot, all of them have been diamond-cut and all are going to be puffy, they're all going to be various sizes by the way, so there's kind of a small, medium and large size to them, what makes it kind of it's elegant playfulness. There's nothing stuffy about it, look it's not 20 dollars, I understand that, but the retail value, the more expensive a piece gets, the comparative retail value gets off the charts. This is a $1200 retail value, look at the number of hearts you're going to be getting, they're all gold, they're all thick, they're all puffy and they're all diamond-cut, you have to have enough gold in order to do diamond cutting in a heart like this, why, because you would pierce right through it, no piercing, no little holes in it. Right, it's all done beautifully and that is three-dimensional, there's no right side, wrong side, backwards, forwards and upside down. It's all going to be from diamond-cut throughout, so that sparkle is there and if literally for the next 7 people in each size, that can have it and then see you later. Then we have to go back to Italy, have more made it's great. I got 28 hearts, count them yourself when you get it at home, that's about as good as it's going to get. $1,200 retail value how about that, but nine-month financing which my producers telling me a lot of people are taking advantage of right now. Why not do it, use your cue card, sign up for it if you want to get it and then pick this up and you could see it's kind of a quilted kind of diamond cutting kind of a finish and then that sparkle is there, very subtly, every single centimetre that you move it. I don't know if we can get in any closer because that's about as close as you can get and that looks great. That's about as beautiful a shot as you're going to get, that great, lose nothing no matter how it moves and how you are going to be wearing it. Brand-new day six zero zero four three big chance a gold, our unique you want unique, fresh, exciting from Italy, the best that Italy has to offer. When we went to Italy what we saw were hearts everywhere, so we wanted to make sure that right here and now, you've got it and you're first to pick it up. How's it going guys? So today I have a fun DIY video for you because lately I’ve been seeing a lot of gold choker necklaces in stores like forever 21. It's pretty much everywhere I shop, so I thought I would show you guys how to make some really easy simple choker necklaces, that you can make multiple necklaces out of, instead of spending, you know, anywhere from five to twenty dollars on just one necklace.
Let's just get started. Here are the supplies you're going to be needing to make the first choker necklace in this video. The first thing you need to do is measure the leather cord around your neck to see how big you actually need your necklace to be. You need to take your crimp bead and place your cord inside of it. I need to take some pliers and close the crimp bead around the leather cord. This may take a little bit of strength because sometimes it can be quite difficult, but you need to make sure that it's tightly on the cord so it doesn't fall off, and just repeat this step on the other side of your necklace. I need to take a jump ring and a clasp and connect that together to your necklace. So you need to open up the jump ring and place both items inside of it and close it, so they're both connected. On the other end of your necklace, you're going to be attaching a chain extender, so pretty much what that means is that you can adjust how loose or tight your necklaces around your neck. So all I did with this is just take some regular chain and cut off a few links and just attach to my necklace with another jump ring. So this is a fun part, you get to pick a charm that you want to put on your necklace. This is the one that I chose and all you need to do is just open up the jump ring and put your leather cord through it and now you're done. A really easy necklace to do, so what I did here is I made two different types of chokers, one a little bit tighter and one a little bit looser. So what I did is I stacked the necklaces to get a different type of look. These are all the materials you're going to be needing for the second type of choker we’re making. So you need to measure, just like you did in the first one, how big you need your necklace to be. I just wrapped it around my neck and then I just cut it with some pliers. Now you're just going to be doing the same thing as you did in the first necklace, by putting a clasp on one end and then a chain extender on the other end. Once you've done that, you're going to measure how long your chain actually is and find the centre of it so you can place your charm there. Once you've done that, take a jump ring to attach your first silver charm to your chain. This is just the charm that I chose to use, I chose to use a crystal but you can definitely use a different charm. If you find something different that you like or if you don't like crystals and that's what I love about this. Is that you can tailor everything to your tastes and make it fit for you, so what you need to do now is lay out your necklace that you've already made and take some more chain and then just kind of freehand how big you want your chain to be. Once you figured out how long you want that chain to be, it just takes some pliers and I cut it where it needs to be. Then you're going to be taking that chain and measuring another chain the exact same size, so you can put it on the other side of your necklace. Now you're going to be attaching these chains to your necklace with some jump rings. Take this jump ring and attach it to the jump ring that is attaching the clasp to your necklace. I know this sounds a little difficult from what I’m saying, but I hope that what I’m showing you is a lot easier to understand. Now take the other end of that chain and attach it to the big jump ring that is holding your pendant to your chain and now you're just going to be doing the exact same thing to the other side of your necklace. Your necklace should look like if you want that last chain that we attached. To swoop down a little bit lower and be more accentuated, just make that chain a little bit longer. If you enjoyed this video please give it a like and subscribe for more DIY videos and fashion videos in the future. I love this type of necklace because I feel like it's so simple yet it adds so much to an outfit that you really didn't know was missing. I'm wearing one right now, that I made in this video and I just really loved it. So if this is a style that you're normally not into or don't think that you can pull off wearing, why don't you guys try it and it may surprise you? You never know and don't forget to be yourself and love yourself and I’ll see you in the next one. Hello and welcome to another jewellery making video brought to you by keepsakecrafts.net, today we're making a fun summery dangly charm bracelet, using ocean themed charms and some sea glass or faux sea glass beads.
To make this bracelet, you will need a bracelet, which is just the length of chunky chain, with a clasp. And I found this in my local craft store all made up, all together with the clasp and the chain. You'll also need some charms and this was a package of 10 ocean themed charms and some sea glass. Now you can purchase sea glass, these are actually faux sea glass these are translucent polymer clay, mixed with a drop of alcohol ink. Let the alcohol ink evaporate completely and then mix it in and bake them and make yourself some beads or you can just buy sea glass beads. You'll need a few spacers, I have here some sterling silver plated spacers, some sterling silver plated head pins, some jump rings. For tools you'll need chain nose pliers, wire cutters and round nose pliers. So the first thing I’m going to do is make dangles out of my sea glass charms and just spacer on a head pin and then the sea glass, and then another spacer. Grasp the wire of the head pin right above where the last bead comes, where the wire comes out of the last bead. Bend at a 90 degree angle, tuck in your round nose pliers and that's kind of chunky chain, so I’m going to make slightly larger loops than I might normally. Go ahead and bend the wire around the round nose pliers as far as you can go and then reposition and finish your loop, so it should be at a ninety degree angle from where you've started. Now I’m going to wrap these onto the chain, I’m going to put one on every other link of chain, so i need to open that slightly. You just bend it so it's open and then pop it onto the chain, hold on to the loop with one pair of chain nose pliers and then grasp the wire with another pair and just wrap around that little bit of wire that's exposed. Then use your wire cutters to trim off the excess wire, since that’s silver plated make sure and save that you can recycle it and then tuck in that end so it's not sharp and repeat to add one sea glass piece to every other link of your chain. So once all of the sea glass charms are on, now you can take your sea creature charms and arrange them however you would like to have them spaced on your bracelet, and then use jump rings to attach them. The way you open a jump ring is grab one side with the pair of chain nose pliers, grab the other side with another and twist one side away from you, while pulling the other towards you, and then I’m just going to pop that on my charm and put it over my chain and then close it up again. Repeat to add all your charms and your bracelet is done, so here's another look at the bracelet we made today. It's a fun summery design, but of course you could make it with any kinds of beads and charms you like, for any season or style that suits you. Happy creating, bye bye. Hello and welcome to another jewellery making video, brought to you by keepsakecrafts.net. Have you ever had just a few beads, but not enough to make a bracelet or maybe just a few silver charms and you didn't know quite where to use them. Well how about making a half bead 1/2 charm bracelet. This is a fun kind of project to use up supplies that you may already have on hand.
To make this half bead half charm bracelet you will need some beads and some charms. I have here these ten millimetre pink stone brick beads and then i have five charms, I thought these were cute, the cats and the birds together. You will also need some chain to put your charms on and you'll need some bead stringing wire to put your beads on. You'll also need some spacers to go between your beads, a clasp, this is a toggle clasp. To fasten the wire you'll need crimps, crimp covers and a nice thing to have of these wire protectors and then depending on the kind of charms you have, you may need head pins and maybe a few little colourful beads to go in there, or you may need jump rings. The first thing you need to do is determine the length of your bracelet. I like to make a bracelet about seven and a quarter inches, that fits me well. However if you have a bead with some depth to it like these, you'll need to account for that and make it a little bit longer. So I’m going to figure on my bracelet being about seven and a half inches and then your clasp, generally you can measure it but most clasps end up taking up about an inch so I will need six and a half inches of bracelet. The first thing I’m going to do here is cut a piece of bead stringing wire and this is great, this is forty-nine strands, there's actually. There's the picture/ this shows you there's actually 49 strands inside this little strand believe it or not and it makes it very flexible. So I’m going to cut a 12-inch piece and the first thing we'll do is slide on a crimp and then one of these bead protectors. It kind of looks like a horseshoe and you just, not a bead protector, a wire protector. You just slide the wire through one of the little holes and then back down through the other and then I’m going to put on an end of chain. I'm not cutting this chain yet because I’m not sure how much length my beads are going to take up, so we'll just leave that on there. Slide that crimp back up so it's over both wires. My preferred method of finishing crimps is just to squash them flat with a pair of chain nose pliers, leave a little bit of slack in the wire, make sure that the wires are parallel not crisscross over each other and then just squish. There you go, always test your connection, make sure it's nice and strong and then you can trim off that excess wire. Feed the crimp, the flattened crimp onto the crimp cover and then use actually a pair of crimping pliers. You've got the rounded parts that will hold on to that nicely and then just gently squeeze it closed and if you need to, you can take a moment and shape it so it's nice and round and there we go and now it's time to string on your beads. These are some little brass spacers that I had and I thought they would do nicely to tie in the pink beads with all the gold coloured metals on the other side, and then you want to just go ahead and string the length, half of the length you need for your bracelet. I decided i needed about six and a half, maybe a little bit more, so I’m going to string just over three and a quarter inches of beads. So that actually worked out to just about exactly three and a quarter inches and then you just go ahead and finish the other end in the same way, sliding on a crimp and then a wire protector and then the round part of your clasp. So work has ground to a halt because I seem to have a helper, there's my project and there's my helper, say hi to everybody Mr. Cheech. I guess he's decided to take on a supervisory role. So you can tell here that I’ve finished adding the beads and the clasp and also you can probably tell by the paw and a helper, but now it's time to check the measurement. You can at this point wrap it around your wrist or check it on a ruler if you're making it for someone else, and get an idea of how many links you need to leave on the chain and my figure of about eight and a half inches was just about right. So then we'll just use chain nose pliers to open a link and remove the length we need and then I can just take the other half of my clasp, hey and these jump rings seem a little small to me, so I’m actually going to double up on them. I thought they were pretty, the twisted wire, but they just seem a little wimpy, so I’m using my fingers because it's a pretty fine gauge, but you have a little bit more control if you use two pairs of pliers. You can attach the other end of your toggle clasp and the reason I chose to put the bar on this end was so that I’d be able to bend it to close it. So once you have your chain on, now it's just time to add your charms and you can decide where you want them and lay them out and I’m going to put on these little pink beads because i can, and it kind of ties in this side with the other side. So if you have charms that don't use jump rings but need a wire wrap, then you'll just slide it onto a head pin and i put my little bird on a decorative head pin. Grab it with chain nose pliers, bend at a 90 degree angle, I’m going to make this loop kind of big because this wire is a little thick, so I’m going to go way down here, start the loop, reposition the pliers. So I can finish the loop, twist the loop open a little, put it over the link that I want it on and then use chain nose pliers to close that loop and hold it and use another pair of chain nose pliers to wrap that wire around. It's a little tricky because of the shape of this bead, but you can do it and then trim the excess wire and if you need to, tuck in that sharp end. These pliers to do that and then the other beads are simply added with jump rings. Hold with a pair of chain nose pliers, position the split at 12 o'clock, push one side away from you, pull the other towards you and then go ahead and close and there you have it, a fun bracelet, half charm bracelet, half beaded bracelet. So here's another look at the project we made today. I hope you enjoyed it and that you'll give this a try. We throw it out, a kitty cat helper, consider how you can dig around in your stash and find just a few beads that you've really liked but didn't know what to do with them or just a couple of charms that you've enjoyed, but weren't quite sure how to use and here you go, a piece of jewellery that you'll really enjoy. If you have a little look in the kit and see what we get. So we're going to get a length of silver chain, some lovely open links so that we can add in the jump rings. We’re going to get some bolt ring clasps, some jump rings and a variety of charms.
If we have a look here at the finished pieces, we've got two different sorts, different varieties of charm bracelet you can make. One with a single strand of chain and then this one here, where you can layer your chain and add in your charms. So if we get started and we'll have a look, and the tools we'll be using, so we'll be using our red-handled chain nose pliers and round nose blue handled pliers and yellow handled snips, side cutters. Our starting point for our bracelets, is to cut a length of chain. What we want for our chain, is we want to create and measure out roughly right seven and a half inches in total, so that's going to be the total for our bracelet. we need to take into account that some of the findings, so the bolt ring clasp and the jump rings, might take up about two and a half centimetres, to an inch. If we cut off a length initially about six, six and a half inches, that should be fine. I'm going to take my snips and just cut into my chain for my charm bracelet and I'll lose a link because they're all joined together. We got our lengths of chain, what you can also do which is a really nice and contemporary look and very useful as well, is just adding a little silver extender chain. For that you're going to do exactly the same, so you might measure I back an inch or so and again with your snips cut off. You’ve got your chain, now going to add in some of the findings. I'm going to open the jump ring, I'm going to find the jump ring and there's a little saw mark at the top and I'll take my two pliers, I'm going to open and close like a door or a gate, so the saw mark is at the top. I'm going to bring pliers towards me to open and close. Now add in one jump ring at the end of the chain and close. on the other end I'm going to add in my bolt ring clasp, so again line the saw mark on the jump ring and open up and add in. pop the chain on and then the bolt ring clasp and close. if we want to add in the extender, I'd go back to the other end and again find the saw mark, open and close the jump ring and add in the extender chain and you can open and close your jump rings a few times. You’re always making sure that when you close back up you get a nice neat finish at the end. We’ve now got our base for the charm bracelet, so we can take some of our charms and again to attach the charms we're going to use the jump rings. Again in using our pliers, open and close open like a gate or a door. I'm going to pop one of our sterling silver charms on, so rather than close it now I'm going to let that fall there and I'm going to start off, I'm going to do quite a uniform design with my charms. I'm going to find the central point, just going to pop the two jump rings together and pick up the link that falls in the centre. Now take the jump ring and pop that into the link and close and you can do as many different variations of the charm bracelet as you'd like. I can add in, I could measure I'd say every inch or so and add in extra charms, like so and close, or I could group them together and pop two charms on one jump ring. So you've got nice movement and group them together. I'm just working my way all the way along the chain to create my charm bracelet in sterling silver. We can lay it out, have a little look how we're how we looking, so you see getting lovely movement there and the charms are going to work really nicely. If I wanted to do the variation with the multiple chains, I just cut myself different lengths of the longer chain and attach them at either end to the jump rings, but by adding in as many charms as you like, that gives your silver charm bracelet. Hello everyone, Linda Israel here and today I'm going to share with you how to make these little journal silver charm bling pieces. I had several people ask about them and how to make them, how to put them together. So I thought I would share with you, now my camera is not the best for this type of work, I'm hoping that I will save some money and be able to buy the camera that I really, really want.
So let me get things situated and we'll get started. So I have a few supplies sitting out here to make some pieces to go on to a length of chain, that I attached to a jump ring and then I attached a small, but not tiny lobster-claw. This one is probably almost an inch tall, it's probably three quarters of an inch tall. They came to a package of six I believe at Hobby Lobby. I buy them when they're on sale, now I also buy pieces whenever one of the markets comes to town here in Oklahoma. In fact there's this one on Saturday and Sunday in Tulsa that I plan to go to. I'm going to take my mom, so here's what I do, I select a few beads and then I start putting them on a head pin. Now there's different types of head pins, they are straight head pins that have a pin end to them but they are not sharp on the other end. The longer your pin is to work, that also means that the fewer beads you put on, the easier it is to work. If you try to stack this with beads all the way up here to the top you can't form a loop. Some of the tools that I use are some close cut cutters, so you can kind of see that it cuts all the way up or it's a flush cut. I'll put a link in the description box for some of these tools and then I use round nose pliers. You can also use some flat pliers as well as a round nose but I do highly recommend a round nose and a pair of flush cutters. So here's what I’ve done, I’ve added some beads and on this particular one I want it to be a charm, so I use one that had a closed loop already on it and then I’ve added a few beads and what I do is take my pliers and just above where I want this to start, I bend it over at an L and then I reposition my pliers so they were like this and now I'm going to take it to the top and I'm going to bend it back around and that is starting to form a loop and I’ll adjust my pliers as necessary and then I will go past and now you see that it's starting to make this crossover piece. What I’ll do is I’ll change my hands, I’ll get another pair of pliers because my fingernails, I do not want to break it hurts to break them on things like this. So I use the pliers to wrap this around, so I'm just wrapping it really close to the first of the wraps and I'm going to continue going around until it's really close to the end of what is left of this piece of wire. So I'm just twisting it around and then when it gets close to the end, when you can't get a hold of it anymore, I will take my little nippers and I will nip off this little piece. Watch out wear some eye protection because it can go flying and then I’ll use my pliers to kind of go around and squeeze and smooth that there aren't any bars or burrs. So there is my loop that's on the top of this component, I’ll bend it as necessary, it's a thing about this wire it's pretty forgiving. So there is my component that I’ve created that I want to hang on to this chain and I think I want it at the bottom. So that it gives some nice links and what I’ll do is I’ll use some jump rings again, you can get them in packages of just a few or by the hundreds and I’ve got a package of about 100 here or 200 I think, and it may be hard to see on the camera but there is an opening on this split ring and what I'm going to do is, or jump ring not split ring, a split ring looks like a keychain like you would put your keys on a keychain and you wind it around, around that's a split ring, this is a jump ring. I like to take two pairs of pliers and I get my other glasses so I can see, it gets tiny work sucks getting old y'all. Alright so I take my pliers and hold onto each side of this ring and then I twist, I push back with my left hand and pull forward with my right hand and so that opens that ring, but don't pull it apart. You want to twist. Now I'm going to take this portion that I created and I'm going to add it to the last chain on the ring and drop it, see you're not perfect, okay. So then once I’ve got all the components added that I want, I’ll take my pliers and grab and then push them back together, so that they're nice and even. To see how even that is now, so there is the beginnings of what I'm going to add charm wise, now I’ve grabbed a few other things from my stash that I have made and I'm going to add these in the same fashion. I'm going to open up a jump ring so I'm just going to lay them out here. I'm going to push back with my left hand, pull forward with my right. So now I’ve got a twist, I'm going to look at this and decide what do I want where and I want this little rose up here at the top and then I’ll use my pliers to close it back up again. So now we're starting to add some things, another jump ring, this says hope and I’ll just kind of pick a spot on this length of silver chain. Now I cut a piece a piece of chain anywhere between an inch, inch and a half, two inches long. This one's a little bit longer, it's almost 2 inches long about an inch and a half and I use this type of chain on this particular project because it was on sale for 50% off. I got six yards of it or 216 inches, which means in my case if I only did about an inch I could get about 200 out of this for half of $14.99. So it's a really good deal and I just cut them with my cutter. I just go in here and figure out how far apart I want it and cut it. So hopefully I'm not all over the place and confusing you, that you're getting the idea that this really isn't that hard, the hardest part is the wrapping. There are a lot of charms now that they sell in bead components that you don't have to wrap them, you can just attach them. For example, here are some little pearls that are all ready to go are you going to do is open that jump ring and stick it on whatever projects you want. Depending on how big my charms are and what my theme is, well it's kind of determine how many I use on one of these. Sometimes I make three beaded components and then I will add three to five charms or pieces that I like and it just kind depends on my mood and the theme and colours and whatnot. This one up here, I have a plethora of beads because I have made jewellery for over 20 years and I enjoy it. I enjoy getting that out and playing, so it's kind of fun to be able to do that on a jump journal. I'll sit and make little components, I have a little tray here, then I will add components to as I make them. Soon I’ll be these all together and then just pop them in here and then that way when I'm ready to make a journal, I just grab a few of these and then start sticking them on to some chain and then I have turtle charms I can use. I also make these as necklaces, so instead of putting this clasp here I will use a closed ring instead of a jump ring and I will run a piece of cord and so this whole component containing is a necklace and you can take these off and do the same thing, just hook the lobster claw to a cord of some kind of silver chain. I think one more, sometimes I get out more than I need and sometimes I need to go get more but I think this time around I have enough to add to it. Let's go right about there, so there I have added this little rose, another flower, some crystal bling, the word hope, a pink crystal, a purple crystal, a key. This is a little bow and then a little butterfly, so this is how it would hang. These are some of the others I’ve made. So I’ve added a little Paris Eiffel Tower and this one has a little star, a little heart and then another little rose flower. Here's one with wings and in blue colours with the word loved. This one I love, these giant rhinestone blings, so I’ll buy these, they come as a bracelet and I take them apart. That's another thing you can look at when you go into first stores or really cheap stores that sell jewellery that you can get for a couple of dollars and you can take the components off and you can make new places with them. Here's a couple more, here's why I'm with a I get it it's all twisted now, there we go. It's got a fleur-de-lis charm, it's got a little cross and a little rose and some pink and I love this little butterfly bead, isn’t that darling and then here's one with a little heart and then here's one where I’ve added this little lace filigree piece, across pink beads with the hearts again in a rose and one more here's one of these smaller blings that came off a bracelet. In the word hope and then across, so hopefully seeing that is kind of gives you an idea that you can make these, are really simple, you can make them as long as you want or as short as you want. It's just a matter of putting your components on there. I hope you enjoyed this if you did give this video a thumbs up. Thanks so much for watching today, have a fabulous day bye. Hi my name is Misha body and the creative designer archives. Today I’ll be giving you some advice on your bridal jewellery and we're very privileged to have a bride here who is actually looking for that advice and let's see what we discuss today. Hi Sharlee I hope I haven't kept you waiting, no that's fine, later thank you. I don't look at your jewellery, there's so many nice and a little choice, a lot of choice and absolutely clueless when it comes to picking out jewellery.
Oh don't worry about that. Oh brilliant okay, so yeah just looking for a couple of pieces for my wedding. Shani when is the wedding roundabout, around six months. Six months so when you've already gotten your events and this is three. Well it's going to be the engagement, whether it been the civil ceremony and then traditional, so three different looks really. Basically, yes. So now we have established that Sharlee is looking for jewellery for three separate occasions. This would be her engagement, civil and traditional ceremony. Let's see what Misha’s recommendations are for her. The engagement to keep it very simple, there's usually quite a small event, close friends, hopefully yes, and skip the count so the jewellery needs to be quite minimum as well. A little bit, just a pair of earrings with a nice gold bracelet chain, just to tie the knot with a big ring. You know the focus is on the ring. Exactly. Exotic overboard service and the kind of thing I'm looking for, a length of pearls, I'm not too sure if it's going to be to much, too heavy with earrings or a headpiece. I think we'll save that one for the civil, okay let me show you. Once set I have in mind, that I find you mentioned that you like pearls, yes so let me show you a set which we can consider for the civil ceremony and I think about trying that way. Well with a white dress, if that's your perception, that you wanted over your white dress. Okay you here we are Shani, lovely that's an option for you, the pearls. Okay yeah like that, the beauty of this particular one if you feel, it's quite comfortable with a weight wise as well yeah. Really lovely I know but in between the pearls, you've actually got the crystals as well. Yes which makes it quite unique but what I'd like to do is once you've got your outfit, actually make a best look according to your the dress, you can change, oh yeah and I think the other aspect for you to consider is, if you've got a champagne coloured dress or better yet, your civil. Yet but the champagne colour works very well with the golden shadow and that's a very ornate colour from Swarovski, which can be incorporated with the pearls, okay and because I'm not very good when it comes to choosing the right piece, once I do have my dress, how will I make sure I buy a piece of jewelry and I will still look like the bride and not the bridesmaid? Okay I think that main differentiation is actually using a tiara. Now the tiara with the same set, yeah, very simple still, will then give you the ambience of the bride and then bracelet to finish off on one wrist and that's a typical pachala that you could have. But again that can be made into a hair clip as well as a tiara so that depends on the look you're going to go for, which again depends on your hairstyle. Lovely and that's for a white, ideally this will suit a white dress. That's right yes but then the colours can be coordinated according to the colour of your dress. That's lovely and then to just finish it off you can have a very simple bracelet but we can actually have adorned on one hand together with a set and the tiara. I think you're complete and this is my advice for the civil, very simple yet but very focused and of course the earrings needs to be very, very simple and I think possibly just stud earrings, stud earrings yes okay. Shani you mentioned that you had another event which is your traditional. We added additional, have you got your attitude already or your, I haven't yet because I'm still in the process of looking and but I have an idea of what I would like to get. Once I’ve actually got it is there a deal is the traditional red and with a bit hint of gold in there as well for the embroidery. Okay more the antique look, yes yeah exactly and the style of the dress are you looking for Shani or a two-piece with the with a languor knob slightly of two pieces and like that with a lens and yellow kick. Then I can show you different pieces of jewellery that you can wear with different looks. Yeah for example if it had been the anarkali then you would have gone for perhaps the mother potty but I don't know that you are aware of me. Now no sure, you yeah it's why I surprised it, yeah okay Shani, this is a typical Chalapathi. Wow that's gorgeous, again it is using the power over we're using the pearls for your registry, but pearls are very much in with this traditional look that is quite, quite popular this year and has been since last year with the brides. It just gives us softness I feel to the whole look but that is that cascades down onto the sides of your forehead and that goes in the middle to fall here. Lovely this really like worked as well, although I'm worried because my hair is quite thin. Would it be able to stay in my hair now, that is a typical question of the bride, usually has a problem with. Yeah all our items have got a hair comb at the back and that also comes with the juma. Now if you were to put a dimmer and you've got very fine hair you can actually secure it with a hair group. You can get your makeup artist Rick should put it on with a and that secures and don't show you what I mean. I'm just going to lift your frame job and show you that that just slides on and it actually needs to sit just below the eyebrow, but then here you just secure it with a grip. Now I think that would suit you quite nicely as well since there's kind of recipe, yeah I mean that's something that we can always consider once you've got your attitude over yeah and then we can try all these different ideas and see actually what's going to suit you because then you've got the runny hard that can come into play with the Joomla and the tickler, which can give you a very majestic traditional look, but with that one you really need to have a very plain top. Okay so I think this is sort of the few ideas that you can consider when you are shopping around for your outfit to have a picture in your mind of what you really want. Whether you want to go for a very majestic or the upper look or even for that matter just a very simple necklace. I think will look really very graceful, oh I’ve got lots to look at now. Okay good. I'm definitely going to come back with my dress and have a look at everybody with it and then we'll take it further from there, because we really want to focus on making the jewellery very bespoke. Yeah by picking on the embroidery off your outfit and actually being that detailing to the jewellery for years. My opinion yeah good to look forward to another. Nisha has advised shall I need to keep her jewellery simple for the engagement, keeping the focus on her and for her civil ceremony to go with a simple jewellery and a tiara to signify her as the bride. One shiny has a traditional Indian dress consisting of red and gold colours to return to choose a style of jewellery to complement her look. Thank you Andy for your help with picking out the right jewelry and I really love the piece of any thoughts out for me today and but this is there any other last piece of information I should know before I choose my final piece. Yeah I think surely just bear in mind then it's very important to keep your body frame as well in when you are choosing your jewellery. The length of the neck matters, your skin tone matters, especially your height your right to a person obvious you can carry quite heavy pieces of jewelry and balance it out. If you had my hips but if you're for a petite bride then obviously that has to be addressed and we do a lot more but I think let's discuss it. But you've got your dress in and let me configure Twitter, how brilliant, that's great thank you Nisha. Thank you very much for watching, I hope you've enjoyed it. Please do look for more tips and advice on our upcoming tutorials thank you. Hey everyone so today I'm going to be doing a video comparing the Pandora essence bracelet to a regular Pandora moments bracelet. So this is the essence bracelet and then this is what a regular Pandora moments bracelet looks like and this one does have sterling silver charms on it. So, as you can see up close, the essence bracelet is a lot thinner compared to the moments bracelet. That's the main difference between the two lines, the essence bracelet is in general, it's just a little bit more of a dainty look.
This is a bangle so and this is, you know, a regular type bracelet not the moments bangle because there is one. This one clasps like that and the essence bracelet also has a similar clasp and I’ll show you how it opens like that and then it comes out kind of like this. Here are the two bracelets side by side and I do have charms on my one bracelet. I'll take them off here in a minute. I bought both of them in the 16 centimetres size, so smallest size, and to me the moments bracelet is a little bit more comfortable because it does bend. This one is stiff obviously, so sometimes I can kind of feel it just getting caught a little on my wrist. Okay so this is what the essence bracelet looks like on, I think it's very pretty, just plain to wear as a bangle on its own or you can of course put charms on it. So I decided I would change the angle that I was filming at so you can see the bracelets better. This is what the two bracelets look like on, I remove the charms awesome moments bracelet so you could compare them side by side, this is one of the kind of like special edition moments bracelets, so the clasp is different but like a regular moments bracelet will just have a Pandora branded clasp like this one. This one's like a starry night or something like that, so the clasp is different. They both look really good on by themselves, in my opinion, the essence looks better on its own, because it can really work it's just a standalone bracelet. The issue with the moments bracelet, why it doesn't look as good on its own is because it has these threads right here to keep the charms from swinging all the way around, but I still think that that looks fine as it is, but it may you know bother some people. So this is what the two bases look like on, they do both have a tendency if you don't have any charms on them to kind of you know slide to where all the weight is, red ball is, so they will kind of end up like that and you'll just have to spin them around. To me the moments bracelet is much easier to remove, secondly unclasp this, you just unclasp it and it's off the essence bangle. A little more difficult, unclasp it the same way but when you remove it, you kind have to take this part out of this little catch, catching area, so it can be a little bit difficult to do one-handed. I'm sure once you get good at it, it would be really fast, but I'm not very good at it. Here we go, then it comes off like this. Okay so in terms of material they're both you know 925 sterling silver, but in terms of weight the moments bracelet is quite a bit heavier than the essence bracelet. This one, you could barely feel anything, when you're holding it or wearing it. Speaking about sizing, the moments bracelet comes in all of these sizes, the 16 centimetres, through 21 and then also 23 centimetres. The essence bracelet, the smaller one, right now as of today it only comes in the 16 centimetre, the 18 centimetre and the 20, so I did get 16 centimetre in both sizes. The moments bracelet it's pretty you know perfectly in the 16 I do find this one to just kind of sit a little weird and when I tried on the 18, it was quite a bit bigger, bigger than I would want this kind of bracelet to fit because I just wanted something kind of dinky and well fitted on my wrist. But it's really up to you, I think a larger size bracelet would be more comfortable to take on and off, then when that fits tighter but it's just your personal preference on how you like to wear your bracelets. So in terms of price this one the essence bracelet is $60 US dollars and the moments bracelets are generally 65. Of course if you get these you know limited edition ones, that have a special designer clasp[ or have gold on them different stuff like that, they're going to you know cost a little bit more and then I think the one question that everyone is really wondering about, is can you put a moment's charm on an essence bracelet? I actually don't own any essence charms, doesn't charms are different in that the inside of them have kind of like a rubber stopper inside, so that when you put it on the bracelet it doesn't swing around, it just sticks to you know the location where you put it, because of the rubber stopper. These they're threaded and by threaded I mean they screw on, so here you can see there's a little screw and you kind of like twist them on right and then they stayed that way but in this section for example they will slide around right. So that's the difference between the types of beads now they do tell you at the Pandora's store that you shouldn't put moment's beads on to essence bracelets, because they're too big and heavy and it made and the bracelet to me honestly because I think you could at least get away with one of these charms on here. If you just want to keep it dainty, you know you could wear just one and here are the two bracelets side by side and I hope you liked this video and I will see you guys next time. This is Kati Vos, good morning heartland, welcome back. Choosing the right jewellery to flatter your features can make or break a look. It’s just as important as selecting outfits to flatter your body shape, charlotte page from jcpenney joins us with how to select the right pieces for your skin tone, face shape, length or neck and more.
How are you doing today? Good, how are you? Good, so I was a little hesitant to wear any type of accessories, because I was afraid it would not go and I just asked you, and you said it does go with what I'm wearing and my face type. Correct, right okay. Right I say you know if you have a really round face that you would want to wear something that has the more elongated features on it. Now if you were round face and you wore something big, chunky, round, that may make your face look even rounder. It depends on then your body stature when you're very tall, then you can get away with some of those chunkier pieces with a rounder face. Same with the longer narrow face, you'd want to avoid doing something longer like this and rather do something round and shorter. Christy, so that wouldn't elongate, right see I never thought to put your face shape into when you're picking out jewelry. I always thought whatever your neckline is with the piece of article, clothing you're wearing, is what you should pick if you decide to wear a necklace. Well it's both, okay. Well that's good to know. So which one would you like to start off with? Well, we'll start over here, so I will just show three different necklines. So body styles and shapes can get away with different things, so I'm not saying this is one way or other, so it all depends and you're showing off two different ways we could wear a necklace right? We want to, if you want to have the layered look, then you can just throw on another long gold chain. Okay, so you'll wear the shorter chain and you'll the rounded scoop neck, you'll want to wear a chain or the statement piece that follows that line. And you don't want it to go past the line. Don't go past the line of your statement piece and then you can throw on the gold chain to add some more bling or interest. You can simply take that chain, the gold chain off and then you'll have the great look and if say you want to throw on that second piece, I would be going out to a party or someplace fun, probably not to work in. Okay and then let's go and talk about the middle one because we have more of like a drooped neck line. This is the cowl neck and I also brought it to show the V-neck as well, so you would want to wear your statement piece here in the centre and have that follow the neckline. As you can see it goes down, I will have that however with this lower neckline you want to keep it close to your neck, so that the eye pulls your back up here. You don't want it to go and so I threw on the silver one just to show maybe a don't, this is really too fussy, I mean it looks really pretty and as we show it, but it's really fussy, so I take that one off too and say just wear this simple, this is really elegant and stunning look. Alright and finally this one the turtleneck obviously we're getting into warmer weather and this is the one that I always tend to stay away from when I wear a longer neck I don't necessarily wear a necklace because I don't know which one to wear, I don't know if it looks like it's choking me or anything like that. And this is showing the proper way of which one you should wear exactly it's another layered necklace so you want the top one to be a layered. With these tunics we're getting a lot of them in this year they come you know past your waist and so how do you wear? I like to elongate that a with the longer one, okay, so I would wear this simply with the one to jazz it up is when I throw on the third one. I guess the right one that looks layered and of course they're both do the same colour, yeah so keeping its same jewel tones, you can even mix silver in gold you know you do it properly, it has to be a good balance. I wanted to show this as well. So what if we didn't wear anything, then that's when you'd want to wear your big jerky earrings or something like that, so they always come in sets, but we really don't want to wear the big earring with a big statement piece. So if you don't wear anything or you wear just a simple chain, then that's when we can get really big on our earrings, and at your wrists as well. Okay and then of course if you want to add, so with the statement pieces that are bigger just stay with the studs, like a silver stud, gold stud or then hang the crystals. And what about scarves, well scarves someone asked me about that the other day and so if you want to keep your scarf in place, it's always really hard when you're at work or you're at a party or something to keep it in place, so I'm just suggesting to just go ahead and pin it with a nice hat. So that's festive for the holidays, but what yes anybody's in place so it's yes swinging around, right so no fuss. Yes I love this alright, great tips to keep in mind, thank you so much. So what we'll do is we'll post everything on our website at ketv.com and we'll link up information with jcpenney if you have any questions or concerns. Again, Thank you Charlotte much for coming on thank you and we'll be right back |
